  • Located in Toulouse, the European capital of the aerospace industry, the Cité de l’espace is a unique site to share the European and global space adventure.

    With more than 300.000 visitors every year, the Cité de l’espace is the leading European site for disseminating space and astronomy educational material to the general public.

    Opened in 1997 on the initiative of Toulouse City Hall, CNES, AIRBUS, Météo France and the Ministry of National Education,Higher Education and Research, it benefits from a key position to share the amazing scientific and human adventure that runs everyday.

    Share the space-based and astronomical progress, provide a desire to learn more, stimulate vocations, be the “sounding board” of the space sector, disseminate the space and astronomy current events, participate in the tourist attractiveness of Toulouse and its region – these are the key roles of the Cité de l’espace.

    In 2017, on its 20th anniversary, the Cité de l’espace will welcome the 30th Planetary Congress of the Association of Space Explorers.
